Tips for Creating Effective Sales Meeting Humor

 

Sure, funny skits and videos make a meeting more enjoyable. But done right, business meeting humor is a great way of motivating a sales team - even better and more memorable that the priciest guest speaker. The Chrysler VP of Sales knew that recent changes had made life tough on his sales reps. So he turned to Corporate Sidekicks to help the sales team understand that he realized what they were up against.

"Bubba" Raises Issues with the Boss

Through a series of interviews with corporate sales staff and field representatives, we determined the "hot button" issues affecting the sales team. Then we scripted "Bubba's" material, making him a rep from Moosejaw, Montana who suffered from the same issues as the rest of the reps...only he confronted the Sales VP with them directly! The results were hilarious...and helped Gary connect with his audience.

Bubba's Tips for Raising Difficult Issues at National Sales Conferences

1) The first thing Bubba did was get the audience to identify with him. Right up front he challenged the boss with his list of grieveances. The skit had a real team building effect on the group.

2) An interactive character, Bubba was able to ad lib with the boss, make him crack up and show to the audience that the guy who's been causing them so much grief is a human being after all!
